Same time, same station-different day. The popular weekly live talk gay radio show, The Gay 90's with Buck Harris, has moved to Monday nights based on the results of a poll taken at the Gay Pride festival. It's still at the same time and station: from 9 to 11 pm on WHK, 1420 AM.
This Monday's show (August 9) is preempted by a pre-season Browns game. Upcoming discussion topics are: gay bashing crimes on August 16; the leather scene on the 23rd; and gay parenting on August 30. Harris' co-host for the month is Dianne Elsley. Local and national gay news is read by the Chronicle's Kevin Beaney.
Be sure to tune in, hear what's going on in the community, and call 578-1420 to get in on the discussion.
Erie Labor Day festival canceled. The Labor Day weekend festival planned by Bridges-Erie, Pennsylvania's lesbian, gay and bisexual network-has been canceled. The event was reported in the July 23 Chronicle. Bridges can be reached at Box 3063, Erie, PA 16508; 814-456-9833.
Entertainment coupon book cares. The Northern Ohio Coalition, Inc. (NOCI), of the Wildwood Lake "We Are sponsors Family Picnic," and other popular fundraising events, is offering a discount coupon book. For just $10 you can get the Cleveland Cares Entertainment Coupon Book, offering discounts to clubs, bars, restaurants and other gay businesses. The books are being sold during August and September at local clubs, businesses, by NOCI members, and at the We Are Family Picnic; the coupons are good for one year.
Proceeds from this drive go to NOCI's general fund, which in the past has donated money to Kamana House, the Pride Committee, the AIDS Quilt, the Center, the Hilliard M. Smith Memorial Fund, and other gay and AIDS organizations.
Children of lesbian and gay parents can now get together in a social and support group that meets twice a month on Sunday afternoons at Cleveland's Lesbian-Gay Community Service Center. For information, call Mary Hammond at 953-0575.
Presbyterian spiritual retreat. The Northern Ohio chapter of Presbyterians for Lesbian-Gay Concerns (PLGC) has planned its annual fall retreat, "Journey Without Maps: Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Spirituality," Friday evening, September 24 through Sunday lunch, September 26, at the Highlands Camp and Conference Center in Middlefield.
Because gay, lesbian and bisexual people have been invisible and judged in religious institutions, their spiritual paths have often been difficult to discern. The Rev. Diana Vezmar-Bailey, founding pastor of Spirit of the Rivers Ecumenical Community Church in Columbus, serves as facilitator, offering experiences to provide sustenance for the journey. The weekend includes opportunities to know each other at a deeper level, discussion of landmark Bible passages, time for reflection, and worship.
The cost is $75 including lodging, meals and materials. Call Rich Horton at 382-0507 or write PLGC at 841 Englewood Rd., Cleveland Hts., 44121, for registration info.

The symbolic protest campaign, called "Stick it to Senator Sam Nunn," invites Northeast Ohio citizens to donate rolls of tape (masking, adhesive, duct, electrical, etc.) which will be assembled at various collection sites and sent to Sen. Nunn. This will remind him in a visual way of the oppression of his proposed legislation on the lives of ordinary Americans who wish to serve their country in the armed forces.
All tapes and adhesives can be donated up through August 15 at these collection centers: the three Booksellers locations (Pavilion Mall, Shaker Square, Westwood Town Center); Gifts of Athena, 2199 Lee Rd., Cleveland Heights; C&O Video, 5105 Franklin Ave., the Lesbian-Gay Center, 1418 W. 29th St. For more information call Stonewall Cleveland at 961-5751 or 281-9205.

P-FLAG conference set for New Orleans. "Celebrating Family-New Orleans Style" is the theme for this year's 12th annual international conference of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (P-FLAG). The dates are Sept. 3-5 at the Sheraton Hotel, Canal St., New Orleans. Keynote speakers include Rep. Gerry Studds, D-Ma., and Federation P-FLAG President Mitzi Henderson. At least 48 workshops, an interfaith service, lots of meetings and plenty of entertainment will round out the weekend.
Special hotel package arrangements and tours are available to take advantage of the many sights to see in the Crescent City. And don't miss the Southern Decadence "parade" on Sunday—a roving and drinking trash drag party with plenty of fun for all. Write the P-FLAG Host Committee, P.O. Box 15485, New Orleans, LA 70175. The co-chairs can be reached at 504-288-2332 or 504-523-3922.
